The methodology for calculating the level of urbanization of the territory, modified for Finland with regard to the peculiarities of municipal statistics and the national settlement system, is proposed and tested. The study used an integral-scoring method for assessing the level of urbanization of a territory, based on the indexed system of indicators proposed by E.L. Faibusovich and O.A. Balabeykina in 2018. Balabeykina in 2018. As a result of calculating the level of urbanization of the territory of Finland, a typology of its regions was developed according to this indicator. The territorial differentiation of the level of urbanization of the territory within the country under consideration is revealed. The substantiation of its interrelation with natural and anthropogenic factors is given. For the territory of Finland it is first of all relief and climate. Regions with a low level of urbanization coincide with mountains and uplands in the north. The impact of relief is manifested in the fact that as the altitude increases, the level of urbanization decreases, taking into account the fact that in general the altitude difference in Finland is relatively small.
